Established in 2011 Taylor Francis was created with the idea of being a traditional local broker keeping the values and traditions of a local brokers making sure they provide their clients with the best levels of service, but operating in the modern day economic and technological climate and helping clients through these tough times.
Managing Director and owner Tim Taylor wanted to ensure that all clients benefited from a personal service, face to face wherever possible, making sure that client’s had a real person to speak to.
‘It is important that we help our clients understand their own exposures. Modern day insurance practices see clients selecting a standard "packaged up" policy from a list of policies and just taking on the one that they feel matches them the best. This can be dangerous, and I want to make sure that all of our clients have someone to speak to who is a professional insurance broker who gets to know and understand the client’s business in order to point out to the client what potential exposures they have and then tailor a policy around those exposures. Sometimes an off the shelf product will work, but often they do need tinkering with to ensure they fully meet the client’s needs. This does not mean more premium, simply better suited cover.
We are going through a very tough economic climate right now, and we don’t just want to save our clients money but also make sure that what money they do spend is spent correctly.’
During the company’s first full year MD Tim Taylor decided to take on an existing brokerage who had gone into administration. This meant helping 4500 clients through a difficult period, and although this was very challenging the experienced and professional team pulled together to make it a success and ensured that all clients were handled properly. Most of these clients decided to stay with Taylor Francis once they experienced the fantastic level of service, attention to detail and great premiums that were on offer.
The company is now made up of two offices with 14 staff members. The team consists of well experienced staff most of whom have in excess of 10 years experience, all staff members are either CII qualified or working towards their qualifications, and all share a passion for building personal one-to-one relationships with their clients.
